FOSSGIS 2006

This URL (http://www.fossgis.org) hosts the conference Wiki of the German language sibling to the old UMN MapServer and new FOSS4G 2006 conference. The conference will take place on March 29 and 30, 2006 in Bonn, Germany.

The FOSSGIS 2006 is explicitly trying to not stand in the way of the FOSS4G conference. The FOSS4G 2006 (http://www.foss4g2006.org/) is the official meeting of the tribes! Last year the German speaking user community insisted on having a local user meeting, so this is why there is another conference with a similar name. The FOSSGIS conference takes place at the end of March instead of September to not collide with the FOSS4G conference.

Future Planning of Conferences

In future this kind of organization can take place in a more orderly manner by being planned and coordinated in the Open Source Geospatial Foundation.
